NEWCOMERSTOWN, Ohio, April 1, 2024 – Vienna Beef Ltd., a well-known food processor and distributor famous for its traditional Polish sausage, Italian beef, and authentic fixings, has announced that it will open a facility in Tuscarawas County. The facility will produce pickles and provide cold storage, creating 51 new job opportunities. Today, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority meeting approved the project for tax credit assistance, as per the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD).

Vienna Beef, the popular Chicagoland deli meat company, has reported increased demand for refrigerated pickles sold to various food service outlets and restaurants across the United States. The company has acquired a facility at 500 Enterprise Drive in Newcomerstown to keep up with this demand and expand its operations further. Covering an area of over 100,000 square feet, this facility will provide the necessary space for Vienna Beef to continue its growth.

The Newcomerstown facility will be the third pickle facility, adding to the current locations in California and Florida.  “The opportunity to add to capacity and locations will allow Vienna Beef to grow the Chipico brand, said Jack Bodman, President & CEO of Vienna Beef. “ This Newcomerstown location is a positive addition to the effort, and we welcome the opportunity to work with the local community, farmers, and government to benefit the local economy over the long term.”

Ohio’s favorable logistics contributed to Vienna Beef’s decision, as this location allows the company to access existing and new markets easily.
