DOVER, OH — The Tuscarawas County Economic Development Corporation (TCEDC) and the Tuscarawas Valley Industry Sector Partnership (TVISP) are pleased to announce the hiring of Chase Buckler as the new Talent Development Director. In this pivotal role, Buckler will be responsible for creating and expanding workforce development programs to meet the evolving needs of local businesses and industries.

A resident of Tuscarawas County, Buckler brings a diverse background in business, military service, and community leadership to the position. He is a 2016 graduate of Ridgewood High School and holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of Akron, where he majored in Sales Management with a minor in Military Science. He is currently pursuing a Master's in Communication from Arizona State University.

A Career Shaped by Leadership and Diverse Experiences

Buckler’s professional background is marked by his extensive military service. He enlisted in the Ohio Army National Guard as a Combat Engineer at age 17 and later commissioned as an officer in the Army Quartermaster Corps. His military career includes completing the US Army Pathfinder and Air Assault Schools, and a deployment to Iraq. He currently serves as the Executive Officer of a Sustainment Brigade Headquarters Company in Springfield, Ohio.

Beyond his military service, Buckler has held various positions in the food service industry, engaged in numerous community service organizations, and served as the Deputy Director of the Tuscarawas County Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. He is an active member of the Tuscarawas/Carroll Counties Critical Incident Stress Management Team and has volunteered as a mentor for the Ridgewood Middle School “Beyond the Bell” program.

A Vision for the Future Workforce

Chris Lane, a TCEDC board member and local businessman, expressed his enthusiasm for the new hire. “We are most excited about Chase’s experience across a broad range of work environments,” Lane said. “These environments will be instrumental in creating and fostering the critical relationships between the education, manufacturing, and employment sectors. This will help inform the TVISP as it builds the next generation of workforce programs. These programs will serve the workforce of today and the workforce of tomorrow. Specifically, Chase’s experiences in the military provide real-world exposure to the planning, development, and execution of a broad range of skills, education, and future-focused development.”

In his new role, Buckler will work to strengthen the connection between education, industry, and the local workforce, ensuring that Tuscarawas County remains a hub of talent and economic growth.
